Melissa holds a Masters in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy and is a fully affiliated member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) — a recognised marker of excellence in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
She has extensive experience treating both recreational and elite athletes across a wide range of sporting populations, alongside several years of NHS practice. Her NHS background provided a strong clinical foundation across multiple specialities including Women’s Health, Accident and Emergency, Hydrotherapy, Pain Management, and Trauma & Orthopaedics.
Driven by her own experiences of pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation after having her two children, Melissa has developed a specialist interest in pelvic health. She provides detailed postnatal physiotherapy assessment of the abdominal wall and pelvic region following both vaginal and caesarean births.
She is trained in point-of-care ultrasound, enabling gold-standard, objective assessment of diastasis recti and abdominal wall function.
Melissa is an Advanced C-Section Scar Therapist, offering specialised treatment using advanced medical technologies including Winback Tecartherapy and Lymphatouch, supporting optimal scar healing, pain reduction, improved circulation, and enhanced tissue mobility.
Additionally, she is trained in pelvic organ prolapse assessment and vaginal pessary fitting, allowing her to offer comprehensive conservative management options for pelvic organ prolapse.
Alongside her clinical work, Melissa is an associate tutor at Cardiff Metropolitan University, contributing to the learning and teaching of students on the MSc Sports Rehabilitation and BSc (Hons) Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage programmes.
